Welding electrodes HS-Fe9

EN 14700: E Fe9
Terms of use
  • it is recommended to hold the electrode close to a right angle
  • welding should be carried out with a short arc and as little current as possible to prevent strong mixing with the base metal
  • to achieve maximum wear resistance on low-carbon steels, it is necessary to carry out surfacing in at least 3 layers
  • the interpass temperature should not exceed 100-150°C
  • surfacing is performed at low ambient temperatures, it is desirable to preheat the product to
30 - 40°C, mechanical workability of the deposited metal - only with an abrasive.
Special properties
  • the deposited metal has increased resistance to the formation of hot cracks due to ferrite stabilization of austenite and high homogeneity of the deposited metal
  • deposition coefficient: 0.15 - 0.16 g/A·min
  • consumption of electrodes per 1 kg of deposited metal: 1.6 - 1.7 kg
Electrodes are designed for welding and surfacing of austenitic steels of the 110G13 type (Hadfield steel), restorative surfacing of products made of similar grades of steel that work under conditions of intense shock and compressive loads, moderate abrasive wear and have the ability to strengthen during operation. The main areas of application are parts of mining, processing and railway topics: crushing tongs, hammers, armor plates and rollers, cones and housings of rotary and jaw crushers, teeth of excavators, crawler tracks, as well as railway crossings. The deposited metal acquires the necessary hardness after the operation of cold mechanical strengthening (scalding) or during operation, when the surface is subjected to intense shock loads.
